Crocodile XC – Singletrack Gold Segment Series

Segment updated 2019/20

The segment comprises three laps.  Starting at the Crocodile XC MTB Park main noticeboard (just through the cattlestops from the dog park), dive down Download, all the way up C2, come out of the trees and head right onto Tiga’s. Continue up Tiga’s until you merge onto Crocodile at the cattle stop. Climb on the Crocodile Up line. Before you get to Kennedys Hub turn onto Crocodile Down, ride down and head through to Deviation and straight on to Lower Deviation.  Climb up the start of Crocodile, hooking back down on Crocpot onto the start of C2.  Up (again!) on Elegator.  Then you have the option of the fast line down Spurious, or take the more cautious route down Off the Cuff, flowing into Down and Out.  Then momentarially onto C2 before climbing Uppercrust to where it meets Murphs.  Down Murphs, skirt the ponds on C2, then up Upload.  Repeat!

Living Springs XC – Singletrack Gold Segment Series

Living Springs XC is now open as lambing season has come to an end.  However, please use common sense and don’t ride trails if they are wet and prone to damage.

2 laps of the singletrack circuit, starting and finishing at the Totara Gully intersection (anticlockwise).

McLeans Island XC – Singletrack Gold Segment Series

2 Laps. Starting at the entrance to the tracks from the main carpark. Two laps of the Full Loop (Tresillian Loop and Coringa Loop), using the shortcut from Coringa to Tresillian between laps 1 and 2. Then return along the track to the carpark, finishing at the end of the singletrack.

Port Hills XC – Singletrack Gold Segment Series

Segment updated 2019/20

This is a long segment- follow the route carefully or your effort may go to waste!  A GPX file is provided below which you may wish to download if your navigation device supports turn-by-turn directions.

Starting from the Crocodile XC MTB Park main noticeboard, head down C2 to ponds then climb following C2, all the way up, come out of the trees and head right onto Tiga’s. Continue up Tiga’s until you merge onto Crocodile at the cattle stop. Climb on the Crocodile Up line to Kennedys Hub, then on The Low Road, and Siberia single tracks. From here climb the Kennedy’s 4WD route to the Summit Road.

Ride along the Summit Rd and then climb Worsleys Rd to Flying Nun. Exit at Dyers Pass and head up the road to the Vic Park entrance.

Ride East on the Bowenvale Traverse and then continue on the Mt Vernon track above the Summit Rd to the top of Rapaki.

Ride down The Full Monty (not on the 4WD road) to the Taramea Track on Montgomery Spur. Complete the Taramea Loop and head back up The Full Monty to the top of Rapaki.

Continue east along the Witches Hill singletrack.

Ride up the road to Castle Rock and then ride down the Castle Rock track to the top of the Bridle Path.

Continue on Summit Rd around and under the Gondola to the Mt Pleasant Track at Cavendish Saddle.

Climb Mt Pleasant track and then descend via Greenwood Park Track to Evans Pass.

Cross the intersection and after the cattle-stop, continue on the singletrack above the road out to Godley Head cattle stop.

Return from Godley head on the track below the road to meet Anaconda. Descend Anaconda to Taylors Mistake.

The segment finishes at the fence line before the grassed area at the back of the Taylors Mistake carpark.
